I’m Amy and I’m a 40 year old mum of two living in Cornwall.

 

I started my first diet way back in Primary School and from that day on spent most of my life yo-yo-ing wildly, with friends never sure whether they were going to see fat Amy, thin Amy or in the middle Amy! My quest for the perfect weight/dress size/body was never-ending….. and believe me when I say that I tried everything.

But the problem was, even when I was thin Amy, I wasn’t truly happy because I knew that in order to stay thin, I would have to live the rest of my life on a restricted diet, counting points/syns/calories and flogging myself half to death in exercise classes that I hated.

As I was fast approaching the grand old age of 40, I realised that I had to break the cycle once and for all. I was desperate to prevent my two young children from following the same destructive path as I had and I realised that in their new world of the constantly filtered  and carefully curated images on Instagram and Facebook, they will need me to provide a different point of view.

I want to prove to them that all bodies are wonderful, miraculous things and while we need to look after them as best as we can, we sure as hell don’t need to make them look like the ones the media would have us believe are the norm.

I have discovered so much joy, freedom and positivity since ditching the diets that I can’t wait to share it, and so after becoming a certified health coach, I’m here to help you!
